Filing a confirmation statement (CS01)

Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, and no later than 14 days after its review period ends. If nothing has changed, it takes a minute.

Updated 27 September 2026. Written for the app as it is today.

File the statement

  1. Open the filing dashboard (Accounts & filing → All filings). In the Company changes card, choose Confirmation statement, then New Statement.
  2. Set the Made up to date. It defaults to today and can’t be in the future.
  3. Under What has changed since the last confirmation?, leave everything unticked if nothing has changed.
  4. If something has changed, tick it: SIC codes (enter up to four), Statement of capital or Shareholders (both open Manage share capital), or the trading and PSC exemption statements.
  5. Click Submit to CH, or Save Draft to finish later. Leave Test Mode ticked for a practice run.

The statement uses the authentication code saved on the company, so save it there first.

After you submit

Companies House reviews the statement. The app doesn’t check its status automatically yet, so open the statement and click Check status to see whether it’s been accepted.

Companies House charges a fee for each confirmation statement. See GOV.UK for the current amount.
